Why Should I Purchase AppleCare and/or AppleCare+?
AppleCare and AppleCare+ provide additional protection for your computer and mobile devices. You don’t buy additional protection because you want to pay for something you may not need. You buy it to protect yourself from a potential loss or losses. Technology is expensive to purchase and can be expensive to fix. By purchasing AppleCare, you’re spending some money upfront to prevent the possibility of spending a lot of money in the future.
People Who Will Especially Benefit from AppleCare or AppleCare+
If you need your computer or iOS device to do your job, and you don’t have the savings to pay for repairs or a replacement product outright. Credit card interest is high, making the upfront cost of AppleCare and AppleCare+ low in comparison.
If you’re accident prone. Do you find yourself dropping your iOS device? If so, AppleCare+ will definitely save you money with its coverage of up to 2 incidents of accidental damage (subject to a service fee and applicable taxes).
If you’re risk averse. AppleCare and AppleCare+ are essentially protection policies against future problems. Buying AppleCare brings you peace of mind for the first three years of your computer’s life or two years of your iOS device’s life.
If you like to own the latest technology. AppleCare and AppleCare+ attach to the product being covered, not the person who purchased it, so you get the most bang for your technology buck when you sell your AppleCare or AppleCare+ protected product while it’s still under warranty. For example, people who’ve sold their AppleCare protected computers after 2.5 years of ownership receive, on average, 60% of their original purchase price (depending on the condition of the computer). eBay, Craigslist, and other private transactions are three ways to sell a used computer. The remaining six months of extended warranty coverage gives secondhand buyers the peace of mind that if there’s anything wrong with the computer, it’s covered.
